Belize is a tiny English speaking country that marries azul Caribbean seas and lush Central America jungle. It offers amazingly diverse terrain to explore, including over 200 offshore cayes that dot the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world, exhilarating jungle terrain, exotic rainforest, spectacular underground cave networks and grand Mayan temples.
Besides the Caribbean Sea, visitors can stay in small intimate resorts on the sand and spend days on the beach and on the water. The Northern Cayes include sleepy Caye Caulker and more grown up Ambergris Caye. In the south of the country a great base is the colourful fishing village of Placencia, or the tiny Garifuna village of Hopkins. There are also some tiny desert islands that dot the barrier reef with resort facilities ranging from the rustic to the luxurious.
