Every year Buñol hosts “La Tomatina,” the world's largest vegetable fight. Situated only 30 kilometres inland from the Mediterranean Sea this charming town erupts into a fiery blaze of tomato-hurling on the last Wednesday of every August. The “Battle of the Tomato” starts at 11 am – one whole hour of entertainment and being pelted with tomatoes has made “La Tomatina” one of the most important parties and one of the biggest international tourist attractions of the region Valencia and of whole Spain.

Being the biggest tomato fight in the world, “La Tomatina” started with a good laugh. During the 40s, in Buñol's main town square, a number of friends started a tomato fight for unknown reasons. Soon, with their rowdy hooliganism drawing passers-by into the fray, everyone was having a great time. They had so much fun, in fact, that from that day on, the “fiesta” has been celebrated annually and is growing even bigger each year – last year there were more than 40,000 “tomato-throwers” participating in the event.

This unique event in the world is now also accessible for incentive and VIP groups. In order to experience “La Tomatina” as a VIP participant we will provide your group with private showers and a tent for changing clothes located nearby the place of action. You will be part of the crowd during the event but afterwards you can enjoy some private space for your group.
